(2) Dental procedures

摘要

Pharmacists come into contact with dental patients before and after dental appointments. Antibiotics might be prescribed for use before a procedure, and dentists often recommend that patients purchase products such s analgesics, mouthwashes,disclosing tablets and dental floss after an appoinment. This article covers a range of common dental procedures so that pharmacists have sufficient beckground knowledge to talk to patients about their dental health and reinforce the dentist's advice. Information on basic dental structures is provided in Panel 1 (p 552).
