The expression "blockbuster drug" is used in two quite unrelated ways, as illustrated by its appearance in both forms inconsecutive issues of The Journal. On the first occasion (PJ, April 10, p520), the headline was " The end of blockbuster drugs?". Here the term was used to mean drugs with a powerful action on several physiological processes, only one of which — the correcting of pathological change — is pharmacologically desirable. (This is my difinition from the sense in which it was used; no definition was given in the article.)
