U.S. President Barack Obama's first week in the Oval Office did not calm the jitters on Wall Street. The markets continued to lose ground over the Jan. 20-26 trading period. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 165 points, or nearly 2 percent, to 8,116 points, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index shed 13.6 points, or 1.6 percent, to close at 837. Meanwhile, gold rallied 9 percent to 910 US dollars per oz., up from 833 US dollars, and the Philadelphia Gold and Silver index, also up 9 percent, closed at 125 points.
