U.S. stock markets shunned the bears and rewarded the bulls - while dismissing the old adage to 'sell in May and go away.' With stronger-than-expected manufacturing numbers out of Asia pointing to resilience in global growth, the three major U.S. indexes all edged higher for the period. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 116pointstol6,606.27points,theS&P500 Index was up 24 points to 1,900.53 points and the Nasdaq was up 105 points to 4,185.81 points.
