The AS/NZS 3500:2003 series is about to be amended to include new initiatives for greenhouse gases and water efficiency. In AS/NZS 3500.1 the Clauses on the connections and pipework for rainwater, reticulated recycled water and water from alternative sources is being enhanced. The changes include colour and labelling of pipes and outlets and, backflow prevention provisions. Also the maximum pressure in buildings has been changed from 500kPa working pressure to 500 kPa static pressure. There have been a number of minor changes to accommodate the work of WS-032 in considering water efficient products.
