Standards Australia has released the public comment draft for Dispute management. The draft can be found at the Standards Australia website: www.standards/com.au. DR 03522 is proposed as a revision of AS 4608-1999 Guideline for the prevention, handling and resolution of disputes. Committee MB-003 Dispute resolution began work on this draft in response to changes in the field of dispute management. The proposed new Standard uses a risk analysis approach with the aim of proactively minimising disputes occurring. It also gives practical guidance on how to resolve disputes once they do arise. Details are included on what alternative dispute processes are available and how to select the most appropriate. The purpose of the Standard is to assist organizations set up an effective dispute management system.
