Precision oncology in breast cancer: Better than ever, or less than before?

"Precision Oncology" appears to be the buzzword I of the moment in our field. The allure of deciphering molecular changes in the DNA and RNA of tumors and using these changes to guide therapy is strong. To those of us who treat breast cancer, it appears the field of oncology is catching up to us. For nearly three decades, we have been using the estrogen receptor to guide use of antihormonal agents, and for over a decade we have been using Her2 Neu gene amplification to guide use of traztuzumab.
