Eastern Dragon production to begin

PRODUCTION is scheduled to begin this quarter at Eldorado Gold's Eastern Dragon Gold-Silver Project in northern China's Heilongjiang Province. It will be the company's fourth operating mine in China behind Tanjianshan, Jinfeng and White Mountain. Construction at the site has been in full swing throughout 2011. Eastern Dragon is about 45km south-east of the town of Xunke, which is adjacent to the Heilongjiang River that forms the border with Russia. The project site is on public land in lightly forested rolling hills with water nearby. Winters are severe, with the exploration field season restricted to April to October each year.
