Rockwood Holdings reported fourth quarter net income of $109.6 mil- lion, compared to $10.8 million in the same year-ago period. The most recent quarter included a $76.5 million (97 cts/share) income tax ben- efit related to the sale of its AlphaGary plastic compounding business to Mexichem. Excluding special items, earnings of 49 cts/share beat analysts' consensus of 43 cts/share, as reported by Thomson One (New York). Revenue increased 8%, to $798 million, on higher sales across all the company's businesses.
