This well-written article reports data regarding a contemporary twist on a constant dilemma faced by patients. The Internet has contributed an infinite amount of information regarding local stage prostate cancer compared to that available from more conventional sources. The Internet also has the advantage of immediate access. The authors are careful to indicate that the study does not relate the source of information to the treatment actually performed, but pretreatment preference or consideration. This article also addresses the important issue of the relationship of an individual's economic situation and educational background to various informational sources including the Internet.
