摘要

This comprehensive evaluation of the Rand Interstitial Cystitis Epidemiology database, analyzing temporal trends in interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) and associated conditions, adds further credibility to the hypothesis that some patients with IC/BPS may have, over time, experienced pheno-typic progression. If we examine the data for 2 of the most common comorbid associations, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and fibromyalgia (FM), it becomes very probable, that at least for many patients, there is temporal (and/or age related) progression from one of these conditions to one or two of the others.
