摘要

This paper presents the results of detection of Sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV) by biological, serological and molecular methods. SCMV induced systemic leaf mosaic on all tested cultivars of sweet and dent maize and local necrosis on sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) plants. Barley and true millet were not infected by SCMV. The virus caused symptomless infections in oats, triticale and wheat plants. The virus occurrence was confirmed using ELISA test. Immunosorbent electron microscopy and dot-blot immunoassay gave positive results with all the studied Polish isolates of SCMV. RT-PCR using PS/PSC primers pair gave product of ~800 bp, which amplified a fragment of the coat protein region.
