On January 20, 2016, the AmericanInstitute of Architects issued a press releaseregarding the Architecture Billings Index(ABI). The ABI is a leading economicindicator of construction activity, and reflectsthe approximate nine to twelve month leadtime between architecture billings andconstruction spending. According to therelease, the Index increased in December to50.9 up from 49.3 in November. This scorereflects an increase in architectural firmactivity (any score above 50 indicates anincrease in billings).
