摘要

Since 2005, countries have taken a number of decisions to strengthen the impact of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions at global, regional and national levels – and within the secretariat – through the “synergies process”. Synergies represents an unprecedented approach for strengthening multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). In essence, they are ways that stakeholders can fnd efciencies in how they implement their respective tasks and functions to enhance and improve delivery of the conventions’ objectives.
