But their growth rate is just picking up momentum and there is capacity for much greater development still tocome. China has a long history of poultry production which can be traced back more than 3000 years. So the people working with poultry have a rich experience of rearing and breeding. Before the 1960's, most of the poultry raising was carried out in thebackyards of rural households using local breeds.
