PET bottle chips fell $5 this week to settle at $1,265/mt FOB Northeast/Southeast Asia, as raw material prices softened slightly. Most producers were offering between $1,270-1,280/mt FOB, while bids were heard at $1,250-1,260/mt FOB. The market remains largely quiet with few deals done. There was talk of a few small Chinese PET makers slashing offers as low as $1,250/mt FOB to lower inventory levels ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
