The European spot market continued to strengthen further as prompt fundamentals firmed on tighter availability, most evident in injection and film grades. Spot values have increased to Eur1,040-1,050/mt (around $1,475) FD NWE in all three grades, as most traders and distributors said that Eur1,050/mt FD was their best offer. Traders and distributors continued to sell pragmatically, as replacement costs into February looked higher on expectations of a higher February ethylene contract price.
