Asian high density polyethylene prices crumbled $25-110/mt on the week on retreating demand in the runup to the Lunar New Year holidays and on high inventories. Far East Asia: Although major producers have not adjusted their offer prices from the previous week on cost pressures, traders with high stocks and concerned about a further price crash after the holidays have begun profit-taking on a massive scale. Traders were heard to be offering prompt cargoes or ex-warehouse material at $1,270-1,320/mt CFR China for HDPE film, with trades concluded at $1,250-1,260/mt CFR levels.
