Asia purified terephthalic acid ended Friday up $5 at $840/mt CFR China for Taiwan-origin cargoes. Market sentiment improved slightly on stronger crude and equities performance, but only one deal was heard traded at $840/mt CFR China between traders. Chinese polyester makers said the price would only be palatable for traders as end-users’ bid ideas were only around $830/mt CFR. As for Korea-origin cargoes, the discussion level was around $820/mt CFR with no deal done.
