The August PTA price rose this week on the back of a higher US PX contract settlement for August. Sources this week confirmed that the August PX contract price settled this week at 69 cents/lb ($1,521/mt), driven higher by stronger upstream MX prices. The gains in PX were expected to push the August PTA contract up 4.12 cents/lb ($90.80/mt), slightly less than the $150/mt increase seen in the Asian Contract Price.
