Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of failure mode and tracking methodology in nursing safety management of N0 level of nurses. Methods This study included 5 N0 level of nurses as research subjects. The risk factor of nursing adverse events before applying failure mode and tracking methodology (between June 2014 to December 2014) was analyzed, and the continuous quality improvement were made in areas of system, process, training, implementation, audit, feedback, correction, commitment and results from Jan 2015 to June 2015. The theoretical knowledge and operational skills of N0 nurses were assessed and compared with those before intervention. Results According to 25 times of nursing safety inspection before and after intervention respectively, the risk of nursing adverse event was dropped (P<0.01). The averaged scores of theoretical knowledge and operational skills in 30 times of test were higher after intervention compared with those before intervention (P<0.01). Conclusion The failure mode and tracking methodology can reduce the risk of nursing adverse event and improve the nursing quality of N0 level of nurses.
