Planungen zur Grunderneuerung der denkmal- geschuetzten Bahnsteighalle im Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt am Main

The following paper describes the planning concept of the renewal of the platform hall at Frankfurt's main station, which was built 1888 and extended in 1924. The platform hall is listed since 1972. Reasoned by extraordinary difficulties in maintenance and far too less renewal work in the last decades many damages at the lattice work girders and the roof occured. The renewal work must be done with respect while maintaining the usage of the station and under consideration of the conditions resulting from the protection of the historic building and the statical behaviour of the structure. Various circumstances, among others the logistics, which influence the planning and 1st results are discussed.
