The New Universe and the Human Future: How a Shared Cosmology Could Transform the World

We find ourselves in a vast and unaccountable universe at a fleeting and fascinating moment in its history of thirteen and some odd billion years. This slender volume talks in simple and interesting language about recent discoveries and breakthroughs in Cosmology: the science of the birth, status, and eventual fate of our World. It informs us that our understanding of the contents of the cosmos has recently undergone drastic revisions. The new view reveals that we humans are here at an extraordinarily propitious moment in cosmic history. The developing paradigm for cosmology is technically called Lambda CDM: an esoteric jargon that is also described as Double Dark theory. It rests on the idea that the universe such as it appears now is due to two invisible entities, known as Dark Matter and Dark Energy.
