Tata Power awarded a design, build, and operate contract to US-based Aquatech International Corporation for a seawater desalination plant for India's first Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) at Mundra in coastal Gujarat. The Coastal Gujarat Power Limited, a Tata Power group company owns the 4,000-MW coal-fired plant.rnAquatech will provide a pretreat-ment system that includes lamella clarifiers followed by two-stage pressure filtration and a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) system that consists of four streams of SWRO banks, followed by two banks of brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO).
