Mapal aeration upgrades Anglian Water facility

The UK water company Anglian Water awarded a contract in June 2013 to Mapal Green Energy to supply its advanced wastewater aeration system at the Stanbridgeford water resource recovery facility, north of London, England. The floating aeration system will replace the existing Jet aeration system, save energy, reduce operational and maintenance costs, and improve overall facility performance, Mapal says. Located in the northern Israel, Mapal was founded by CEO Zeev Fisher and CTO Hanoch Magen, the inventor of the technology. Mapal's internationally patented technology is successfully operating in more than 30 installations worldwide, and reduces up to 70 percent of the energy consumption of these facilities when compared to their previous aeration system. The system uses floating fine bubble aeration modular units that infuse fine bubbles into wastewater, replacing high energy-consuming mechanical surface aerators.
