TriGAT (PARS-3 LR)

The Third-Generation Antitank Missile, or TriGAT, was a new family of anti-armor missiles being devel-oped by France, Germany, and the United Kingdom for deployment in the late 1990s. Belgium and Nether-lands signed on as "associate nations" in the medium-range development program. TriGAT was to be produced in two versions: a short/medium-range manportable system, called the TriGAT-MR and a long-range vari-ant, the TriGAT-LR (PARS-3 LR in Germany). The TriGAT-MR com-pleted development in 1996 but the production agreement was continu-ally delayed. Britain finally pulled out of the program, essentially leaving it dead in the water.
