China has been exporting two principal types of antitank missiles, the outdated Red Arrow 73 missile (Hong Jian-73), a copy of the Soviet 9M14 Malyutka (AT-3 Sagger, shown here), and a new indigenous design, the Red Arrow 8 (Hong-Jian 8), simi-lar to the Euromissile HOT. The Red Arrow 8 is also in license production in Pakistan as the Baktar Shikan ATGM. In 1999, China unveiled a third type of ATGM, the HQ-9. This mis-sile appears to be heavily based on the Israeli Mapats, and may be a license manufactured copy. A new missile roughly in the Hellfire class, the HJ-10, has been displayed on the new Chinese Z-10 attack helicopter since 2007. Another new heavy ATGM, the GT6, was unveiled in 2011 but may be a version of the HJ-10.
