MSBS

摘要

The MSBS (Mer-Sol Ballistique Strategique) is France's family of submarine-launched strategic missiles. They were built by Aerospatiale (now part of Airbus) and are the fundamental elements of the French strategic nuclear deterrent. The M20, M4 and M45 are the missile variants currently in use on five nuclear-powered French ballistic missile submarines (SNLE). The new M5 missile was in development and was expected to enter service on the third of France's new-generation Le Triomphant-class submarines (SNLE-NG) around 1999. Because of development delays, the first two were equipped with M45 missiles, an improved version of the M4.
