All Tannery of the Year candidates have caught the attention of industry experts for their commitment to corporate social responsibility, including issues such as fair treatment of workers, respect for the environment, compliance with local and national laws, openness to innovation and to forming strong partnerships with suppliers and customers. Brief profiles of each of the ten candidates, in alphabetical order, appear here. Bader Automotive Leather, Dalian, Liaoning Province. Dalian-based Bader is part of German tanning group Bader, which was established in 1872 and is now being run by the fifth generation of the family. The Chinese facility is one of seven globally. It was opened in 2005 and deals with crust to finished leather. It is certified Leather Working Group (LWG) Gold.
