302' LCV underway at Eastern Shipbuilding

Since the end of the drilling moratorium in the U.S. Gulf, several OSV operators have unveiled plans for sizable newbuild programs to meet anticipated future demand for large, deepwa-ter, platform-supply vessels. One of the beneficiaries of this building surge is Florida panhandle yard Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG). The Panama City, Fla.-based shipyard is busy with a host of projects, including eight 302' DP-2 OSVs for Hornbeck Offshore Services. Eight will also be built at VT Halter Marine.
