MetalCraft delivers first of three new fireboats to the Port of Houston

MetalCraft Marine, Kingston, Ontario, delivered the first of three new 70'10"×22'10" aluminum fireboats to the Port of Houston Authority in early June. Designed by MetalCraft, Fireboat 2 and its sisterships will operate in the Houston Ship Channel. The new fireboat was delivered on its own bottom over a two-week trip that began in Kingston. The new Firestorm 70 fireboat features four Hale fire pumps, five water cannons - one from Stang mounted on the wheelhouse roof and four from Elkhart, two forward and two aft. Two tanks, one 300-gal. aft and one 200-gal. forward, provide firefighting foam.
