摘要

As the number of vessels using EALs increases there is a growing feeling that not enough is known about the differences between mineral oil-based products and EALs. That's caused DNV GL, the marine classification society, to work with insurance companies in the United Kingdom to better understand the lubrication performance of EALs and to determine if biodegradable lubricants play a role in stern-tube bearing failures.
