The Scottish Tartans Authority (STA) has designed a tartan to help raise funds for the New Zealand earthquake appeal. It is hoped the auction of the fabric will help rebuild the community in Hororata, a village located an hour away from Christchurch that was devastated by the earthquake which struck in February, and which has various Scottish connections. The locals will be hosting a Highland Gathering fundraising event on November 5.
