Australian High Commissioner to the UK marks West Yorkshire textile success

During a recent visit to West Yorkshire organised by The Woolmark Company, the Australian High Commissioner to the UK, the Hon Alexander Downer, AC, toured the mill of AW Hainsworth in Stanningley, and stopped to mark the beginnings of the wool trade between Australia and Great Britain at the memorial to Samuel Marsden, the main instigator of the trade, in nearby Farsley, a mill town important to the Industrial Revolution.
