The fashion and textile industry employs almost 3.4 billion people around the world, most of whom must be aware of the unsustainable nature of their field. Yet doing something about this can be almost impossible considering that the majority of the workforce are just cogs in a machine. That said, some people do decide to break away from fashion’s rat race and attempt to make an impact on their own – take Thomas Poli, for example. He and some friends, all of whom have experience working in fashion, have teamed up to create Paradis Perdus – a knitwear brand that aims to have the lowest possible impact on the planet.
