Orta develops sustainable solutions and antiviral protection

Turkish denim fabric manufacturer Orta Anadolu showcased its new Deeply Rooted collection at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition on 17-19 March. The range aims to address two issues at the forefront of consumers’ minds today: sustainability and antiviral protection. The collection features Orta’s new Gen H fabrics, made from a blend of organic cotton and hemp. The organic cotton is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), while the proportion of hemp in the fabrics is up to 30%. Orta describes hemp as “an important net-positive biodiversity crop.” The company says it is sourcing the fibre from the leading hemp farm in France, which certifies all stages of production.
