John Foster, one of the leading names in British worsted cloth, is this year celebrating its 200th anniversary. The company's journey began in 1819 in Queensbury, Bradford, when John Foster, an entrepreneur of the textile industry, began successfully marrying innovation in cloth design with British manufacturing skills and pioneering his name in markets across the globe. The business is today part of the Luxury Fabrics group of companies in the vertically integrated textile group SIL Holdings Ltd, based in Bradford. John Foster carries on the tradition of weaving high-quality cloth at its Queensbury mill.
