Last year the Italian yarn spinner Zegna Baruffa released its first Sustainability Report, outlining the company's achievements and future aims with regards to environmental and ethical issues. One year on, the company has published its second Sustainability Report, highlighting activities over the past year and new targets for the coming years. In a 'stakeholder letter' introducing the latest report, Zegna Baruffa chairman Alfredo Botto Poala reveals that the company has requested its suppliers to sign a Code of Conduct designed to ensure they match Zegna Baruffa's sustainability principles and to "guarantee the necessary conditions to preserve the relationship with our company." He states that "the document provides specific bonds related to work conditions in terms of safety and compliance with laws on wages, working hours, recruitment criteria and absence of any form of discrimination.
