Anew pair of Bernard Moitessier's books has been reprinted by Sheridan House in time for the 50th anniversary of the first running of the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race. The competition was an unprecedented challenge that pitted solo sailors against one another in a nonstop and unassisted circumnavigation, beginning and ending in any English port. Moitessier was one of the competitors and was at the time already one of sailing's most widely known figures. Experienced, fit, and with a fast, proven boat, he was the clear favorite from the outset.
