Dear WoodenBoat, As a son of Lieutenant Commander Waldo H. Brown (U.S. Naval Reserve Forces), also known as Brownie, I was surprised and delighted by the interest in the Yankee One-Design (WB No. 221). Brownie was no mean designer in his own right, being a graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover and a Massachusetts Institute of Technology-trained draftsman and artist with the class of 1920.
