"Although estimates say that close to 5,000 of these craft have been built, they tend to attract the interest of dedicated followers rather than the headlines of the yachting press. But every year, Folkboat sailors from around Europe gather for the class's International Gold Cup, held for the first time this year in Helsinki, with 65 boats participating.
