摘要

San Diego - In spite of the most devastating terrorist attack in American history, the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) went ahead as scheduled with its Wireless I.T. & Internet 2001 conference and exhibition last week. However, the question that lingered over much of the show floor was whether it should have. Most of the country closed down on Tuesday, both out of respect for those who lost their lives and because of continued safety concerns. A walk in the usually upbeat Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego revealed that only a few restaurants and retail establishments were open. The rest of the city closed its doors for the day.
