摘要

This letter investigates application of optimal fractional frequency reuse (FFR) policies in an OFDMA network of macrocells. Optimality is investigated, first in terms of maximum traffic capacity, the maximum demand in traffic volume per second that can be served by the cell at the session layer. Second, optimality is investigated in terms of minimum total power consumption, applying a dynamic – model of power consumption at the base station (BS). The analysis includes the impact of the multicarrier proportional fair (PF) scheduler, providing concise expressions for distribution of active users and for user throughput.
