AISI commends ITC decision on hot-rolled steel 5-year sunset reviews

Commenting on the October 11, 2007 decision by the U.S. International Trade Commission ("ITC") in the 5-year sunset review of the antidumping and countervailing duty orders covering imports of hot-rolled sheet, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) issued the following statement: "We are pleased by the unanimous decision of the ITC to maintain antidumping orders on hot-rolled steel from China, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand and Ukraine. This reflects, at least in part, the Department of Commerce's ("DOC") previous determination that likely dumping and subsidy margins from all of the 10 countries under review would be substantial and revocation of the orders at issue would be likely to result in a resumption of unfairly-traded imports from each of the 10 countries.
