Transport Canada Develops New Policy on "Wet Leasing" - On August 30, 2013, Transport Canada issued a new policy on limits to "Wet Leasing". Wet Leasing is the industry term for the rental of both an aircraft and its crew. The policy focuses particularly on offshore wet leases. It specifies a cap of 20% of a Canadian carrier's fleet being wet leased from a foreign company. The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) will administer the new policy. ATAC has met with both Transport Canada and CTA to clarify issues with the policy on behalf of members.
