Repower delays offshore turbines beyond 6MW

Repower will stick with its 6M 6MW offshore turbine until the end of the decade, according to vice-president for offshore development Norbert Giese.The Suzlon-subsidiary has no plans to design new turbines, despite moves by other turbine makers, including Vestas and Siemens. Instead, Repower anticipates incremental development of the 6M, first introduced in 2009 and now operating on the Thornton Bank wind farm off the Belgian coast.
