The recent announcement by Anglian Water chief executive Jonsan Cox that the company is going to pre-qual-ify all of its contractors according to their carbon footprint, is welcomed by the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC). For some time, the EIC's Water Pollution Control Group - which represents more than 80 companies supplying technologies and services to water companies, as well as the rest of industry -has been championing the cause of greatftr energy efficiency in the water sector. This move by Anglian Water is an important step down this road.
