Newsreader to run for WaterAid

BBC London news presenter Asad Ahmad will be running the 2008 London Marathon for WaterAid. He is fulfilling a long-term ambition to take part, held ever since he watched the start of the first London Marathon in 1981 from his school opposite the start at Greenwich Park. Explaining why he chose WaterAid, Ahmad said: "Thousands of people die every day because they don't have access to clean safe water.
