Morrison wins mains work

Morrison utility Services has secured a £14M water mains replacement project at Woolmans Wood in Chatham, Kent, for Southern Water. The deal involves replacing mains and offers potential for innovative approaches to be deployed. Morrison US is working with Southern Water with a view to deploying solutions such as ice pigging and pipe relining, which ensure water quality whilst reducing any potential impact on customers and the environment. Morrison Utility Services already provides mechanical and electrical maintenance services for Southern Water on its non-infrastructure as- sets such as clean and waste-water treatment works. This is the company's first mains network scheme award from Southern Water. Les Bond, director of Capital Delivery and Commercial, Southern Water, said: "Minimising the impact of this work on customers and the community is our main priority."
