Wastewater works upgrades planned

More than 20 wastewater treatment works in Lanarkshire have been earmarked for upgrading as Scottish Water embarks on a £62M spending spree. The development is part of Scottish Water's work to protect the natural environment in Lanarkshire. The programme is one of the biggest that the company has worked on, and will involve 24 WwT Ws. The work will yield particular benefit for the River Clyde and many of its associated watercourses. Some of the works are being enhanced so they can ac- cept more wastewater flows from local communities. This is a key requirement in the growth of local towns and villages across the region.
